Fines and Jail Time for Online Poker Players?

Despite the push for changes in UIGEA, some diehard Washington politicians continue their efforts to do ANYTHING that will keep you from playing poker online. Some of them are still talking seriously about making it a FEDERAL CRIME for YOU to play online.

It has never before been a Federal crime to play online poker, but these politicians want to change all that and give Federal agents the right to enter your home, arrest you, confiscate your computer and subject you to Federal prosecution and criminal penalties – and maybe throw you in jail — just for exercising your right to play low-stakes online poker. Don't these guys have better things to do?

Worse, some states are going even further off the deep end than the Feds. Politicians in the State of Washington last year made it a Class 3 felony for any of its citizens to play poker online – placing online poker players in the same criminal class as sexual predators. Massachusetts and other states are currently considering similar bizarre penalties.

Only we as American poker players can stop these out of control politicians and protect our right to play by joining together. Send them the only message politicians understand: "We play poker. And we vote."
